I run a portfolio of commercial property and need to carry out assessments to find how they compare with expectations of the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act.
There is a National Register of Access Consultants and Auditors who have all been assessed to be competent to carry out access audits. Some practice as individuals and others as part of bigger companies.
Their web site is on www.nrac.org.uk. If you go to their list of members you can select the areas or building types you are interested in. Alternatively, select ALL against number to show per view and ALL against the entries to be selected, you will get a web page of members names and addresses to scroll down. Some of these offer web sites where you can see their or their company's services set out.
This access2go web site is provided as a free, and hopefully helpful, service by Martin Affleck, a retired consultant member of the NRAC - consultancy web site: www.access2go.co.uk/martin gives an outline of the services that used to be offered by him to give you an indication of what can be available.
